214. Melt Banana, a horse, the Adderall diaries & tiny flecks of snow or are they floaters
December 3rd, 2009 § 13 Comments
The last time I went to get my eyes checked, my doctor was so impressed with my eyeballs that she took out her digital camera to take model shots of my bizarro eyes to submit to the leading journals in ophthalmology & optometry journals. The eye adoration was nice at first, but later I sort of wanted her to stop ogling my eyes. Like Meggy said, winter is here, and today in Iowa City, there were 12 flakes of snow or possibly my insane eyes just had snowflake shaped floaters intruding in my vision?
Can you tell I have the kind of eyes that only .00001% of the eye-possessing population in America has? I’m going to see my friend Steve Elliott read from his super good, newish book, The Adderall Diaries, and then my friend is hosting his birthday/after-party, which coincides at the same time as the Melt Banana show I’m going to with Michael. So the frothy pink dress is for Steve’s birthday/reading party, the floral Doc Martens are for kicking big burly guys at the show who try to mosh up on me, and the ripped blue tights are for not doing the laundry ever.
And the gold chains? Well, they are sort of from Tibet, and it’s a long story that makes me look bad (like all of my stories.) I’ll probably just fling them off of me as soon as I get to the reading/party/show.
I’ll probably end the night with a peppermint bath and maybe a dumpling snack. Hope you’re all having a marvelous Thursday night!
Love, Jenny

Your dress and docs are wonderful.
Thank you!
I love this outfit! do you mind me asking, where you got your leather jacket from? thanks!
Hi dear–it’s from Miss Selfridges. I should have mentioned that.
I love your dress and tights. The dress makes me think of a tiered cake…precious! Where did you find it?
I love your outfit. Those tights are really cute and those shoes are FABULOUS!
Oooh and that necklace is pretty too.
Thank you! You’re so sweet so say that.
Adorable dress and that horse sweater is AMAZING!
Also, I’m blind too and I recently had a check-up and apparently have gotten a lot more blind. Doctor’s comment “wow, your prescription has really changed a lot.”
Thanks Rebecca! Do you ever fear the doctor is going to say something like: Okay, you’re officially blind now!
Your blog is such a breath of fresh air, so delightful and joyous! A real source of inspiration, thank you for your many morsels of goodness.
If you have a moment or two, please amuse yourself with my new creation. I would greatly appreciate the brief moment of adoration and any suggestions.
