218. Infinite gratitude & a jumble because there’s no time and there’s a bloody mary with kimchi waiting for me!

Firstly, a huge, gargantuan THANK YOU to everyone who commented on my last post. It sweetened my sour heart and I hope we can continue this dialogue (I’m looking forward to reading all your blogs and hearing your thoughts on the matter) for a long time to come.
Second: Goodbye Iowa ice cold City! I’m going to New York for a few weeks and then to Lisbon. I can’t wait to see my family but there’s so much to do before I go. I had meant to put up a punch of lovely holiday dresses like a 1950′s rhinestone cocktail dress and some lovely 1930′s holiday dresses and a sparkly ruffle bib front jumpsuit and this studded wool blazer and a bunch of saucy as anything velvet dresses.
Last night, I cut Michael’s hair and his ringlets were all over the floor. I put on his glasses afterward to see the world the way he does.
Didn’t work. I played his mini-accordion in the middle of the night.
Michael wants me to keep this green, crazy-puff sleeve velvet dress. Should I? I have nowhere to wear it to! He also wants me to keep this 50′s junior plaid dress. I’m packing them both and deciding later if I should list them on Etsy or just prance around my parents’ house in them.
I hope you all have a lovely Friday night and weekend. There’s a super spicy bloody mary waiting for me (with 3 kinds of hot sauce and kimchee and maybe a pearl onion) and six hours from now, when it’s the middle of the night and two hours before I have to go to the airport, I’ll probably start panic-packing.
Love, Jenny

Boyfriends can be bad influences! But I can see what your boyfriend means . . .those dresses are cute on you, and so nice and holiday-ish.
I’ve been eating kimchi all week . . .I’m obsessed! Though I might be too big of a baby to drink a kimchi bloody mary. You should devote a whole blog post to it!
panic-packing is the only way to roll. i almost never sleep before flying for that exact reason. i’m so jealous that you get to peace out of iowa city early. i would love to be gone already. have an excellent break!
OH the 2 dress are lovely! Im sure you could easily find place to wear them or simply just overdress for some events
The green velvet puffy sleeve dress fit you like a glove!
