Fashion for Writers was founded by Meggy Wang on February 29, 2008. Jenny Z. joined the team in October of 2009. In April of 2011, Jenny Z. took over FFW, with Meggy appearing sporadically to say hello.
Jenny currently lives in New York City. Last year, she lived in France, where she took to the streets in full cameltoe and thought about poetry while writing her novel.

Congratulations on heading to Ann Arbor for your MFA. And: I love your style!
I just wanted to to drop you a line and let you know I love your blog. I’m also a grad student and sometimes writer. You’re an inspiration (and one of the reasons I finally got up the nerve to start my own blog).
I would love to link:

Cheers!
Welcome to Michigan!! Despite that you’ll have to deal with the cold, I’m sure you’ll love Ann Arbor! I write and run my business out of Lansing, and we’re constantly making little weekend getaways to do things in Ann Arbor!
Good luck in grad school!
Hi there! I have just come across your beautiful website and while reading have realized you live where I live! How quaint! I do not have a fashion blog, although I am sure I will eventually get the gusto to make one, I do have a vintage boutique on Etsy you might like to check out.
At any rate, here’s to Ann Arbor!
Lauren
I am new to your blog and was attracted to the title as I am both a writer and love clothes/fashion.
Look forward to your posts (good luck with getting a new camera!).

I love your site; I’m a writer and I love fashion. I write fiction and I also write ABOUT fashion.
So your site attracted me and I just want to say “Thanks!” because…it’s gorgeous and simply powerful. Well done!
Just wanted to let you know that I’m a BIG fan, and I’m glad I found a blog that combines me two favorite interests. I just plugged your blog on my own itty bitty blog, so feel free to check and make sure everything I said is kosher:

Very informative blog, Excellent content.. well categorized & nice template.. this meets all the high standards.
Hi Jenny,
Love your blog. I’m putting together a book for teen girls in Australia to empower and inspire them, and encourage them to feel good about themselves, to be creative etc.
Would love to include a snippet from you illustrated with the pic of you in your spotted stockings, and your thoughts:
This dress was one of the first vintage dresses I had ever bought on Etsy. It was kind of long so I chopped it off and made it a mini. The story of every vintage dress’s life once in the hands of a young girl.
I wish someone had told me, “Make your own way in the world,” and I wish that someone had been me and I wish I could tell myself that everyday and actually do it too.
Do hope you can be involved. Will give you full accreditation, and will send you a book when it’s finished.
Very best love Maggie, Sydney Australia
jenny! you’re so inspirational… I found you on rookiemag and i dont think i have ever encountered a more interesting..real person!! your story on rookiemag, was your teenagerhood very much like so? i feel so conformed after reading it. you’re cool enough to wear PIGS BLOOD (wooot) while i’m being a very typical asian working for the grades. please write about your high school years and how you delt with being different amongst all the stereotypes and normality. again, you’re so cool, I wish I can write as well as you, I have no talent in English unfortunately, but i’d like to think myself a bit wiser than all my peers in school (so egoist i know -_-). i love how you contrast against the asian stereotype too, like the anal academia in math and science, and here you are being a badass in anglaise… I NEED TO KNOW YOU !!! COOLEST ASIAN EVER.
Hi darling, thanks so much for your sweet and funny comment. You’re no egoist. It’s great to be confident and happy about where you are in your life. No one has ever referred to me as “badass in anglaise,” but I like it, and I will take it gladly. The Rookie story, “There Was No Creek and I’m Still Alive,” is pure fiction, or at least the details, are, but the emotions probably come from me… I think. Sending you love and high fives all around <3 Jenny
Hello! You’re teaching at the Iowa Young Writers’ Studio yes? I really hope I will get to be one of your students! Regardless, this blog is great! I obviously love writing, but I’m also really passionate about fashion, photography, and Cocteau Twins, so I dig.
I blog about silly stuff from time to time here: http://roscoecoon-dog.blogspot.com/
Hello! Just read your latest Rookie article, and found your blog!
You are very inspiring!
